Chi nei tsang is a
massage therapy of the internal organs of the abdominal
region. According to the early Taoists, the energy center is located in the
abdomen, around the navel. The energy center is often blocked by a
combination of toxins, stress, overwork, diet, posture or lifestlye choices.
When the energy center of the body is congested, the Chi of the entire body
is blocked and this can have a negative effect upon the functioning of the
entire body. Chi Nei Tsang can be used to unblock staganant energy, clear
toxins, process negative emotions, and clear excessive heat. As a result,
organ functioning improves and the body experiences a renewed sense of
well-being.
Chi Nei Tsang can be performed by itself or it can be a complement to
acupuncture. Each Chi Nei Tsang session lasts approxiamately half an hour
and involves direct massage and manipulation of the abdominal region and its
organs. Deep breathing is advised during every session to help move
stagnant Qi and to both invigorate and relax the abdominal region.
